Merry Christmas from Melbourne

“Home is where one hails from…but is also the places one has camped, sojourned and lived during the course of one’s own lifetime.

Home is a relationship lived between us…a sense of ‘being at home in the world’ – even as we go our separate ways.”

Happy holidays and a very happy Christmas eve to you! I will be in Western Massachusetts, USA. I would like to be in small town outside of Portland, Oregon, USA Perhaps next year. (Or celebrating the summer solstice in Melbourne!)

I hope you have a lovely holiday and rest of the year! 2014 is going to be good!

Thank you very much! Massachusetts – you will be in for a proper, white Christmas then, from what I understand. I’ve been hearing lots of good things about Portland lately. But I hope you do get to join us for Melbourne’s summer solstice oneday – we will be having a barbeque (or ‘barbie’ as they call it here) and 31 degrees (or 88 F) this year! 2014 is going to be good – we will make it so! 🙂

The white stuff has left us, much to everyone’s dismay. It’s supposed to snow tonight … here’s hoping it snows more than they are expecting.

Melbourne is one of the places in the world I’d love to see. Quite a few years ago I ended up in Tokyo for a couple of weeks and I really wanted to hop over to Australia and wander around the country for a bit, but the trip wasn’t structured that way. Now I’d make it happen, then I was sure I’d be traveling all the time.

Yes we are going to make 2014 ours!

Have a lovely Christmas, Alarna! But, I need space to go wild loudly!! In my family we dance the whole night of the 24th, play instruments and eat! My family does not know quietly. LOL! Feliz Navidad!

Merry Christmas!! Have a magical holiday!! I will be at home (Texas) with my family. Nothing better than that. No travel this year, no visitors. Easy peasy lemon squeeazy.
    xoxo

I will be spending xmas day with my family in the cold of upstate New York and then the next day flying south to enjoy some tropical warm.

Happy holidays to you and yours and wishes for a happy, healthy New Year.

Yes, wild is good. For me, Christmas was suitably quiet and loud in equal measure, plus messy and clean, and happy and sad.
It’s been a big year. Enough love to be happy, enough loss to appreciate all that love. And to feel very human.
Life doesn’t get much better than that, does it?
See you next year Alarna. Happy 2014.

Hello you and sorry to arrive so late to your xmas celebration. I was lying on the couch with a bowl of stew, listening to the girls croon along to the carols and looking at the xmas tree. For me, xmas brings up all kinds of complicated stuff. Love that “go wild quietly.” That’s it, exactly. xoox

Please, no apologies! I am kind of here but not here at the moment, while I wrap my head around the new year and all that. Totally get the Christmas complications. Watching carols with the kids and a bowl of stew…what a cosy scene 🙂 May the warmth of that extend throughout your year! Xoxo
